Zech Umwelt expands water technology department

Bremen, 08.07.2010

Zech Umwelt expands water technology department on national and international market / New staff member Dr. Johannes Köhler

Since January 1st, 2010, Mr. Johannes Köhler (47 years) has been working for Zech Umwelt GmbH as chief of water technology department.

After he had worked several years for BWT Wassertechnik at Schriesheim, Germany, Mr. Köhler has worked for Passavant-Roediger GmbH since 2001, as head of process engineering department for industrial wastewater and drinking and process water processing.

Mr. Köhler's scope of duties in our company comprises expansion of water technology department on the ever expanding national and internation market for demand-actuated water and wastewater technology solutions.

Mr. Köhler had his first international appearance for Zech Umwelt company in the beginning of February when he attended to the 10th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit Congress in India, for direct market analysis.

For the last couple of years, India has invested increasingly in renewable energies, especially in regions with a lack of infrastructure. Moreover, there is a high need of decentral drinking water processing plants. Apart from plant purification facilities, there is a particular demand for membrane and ultrafiltration plants for drinking water. We now know that there is a growing demand for high technology wastewater processing plants in the growth country India, especially in the industrial sector. According to Mr. Köhler, Indian market thus possesses ideal conditions for the sale of energy independent and standardized processing plants which in the future will be part of Zech Umwelt product line.

Mr. Köhler has seized the occasion to present Zech Umwelt company with the special know-how in an EBTC organized European pavilion (EBTC=European Business and Technology Centre – an EU co-financed commission of European-Indian technology transfer). During this forum, he got in contact with policy and economy decision makers who have now showed interest in a cooperation with Zech Umwelt group.

According to market analysis, the sales strategy with new product line scheduled for India is also applicable to other countries, in a modified form. With our new staff member, Mr. Johannes Köhler, we have a specific water technology know-how at our disposal which Zech Umwelt group will purposefully profit from in the future.
